The Perfect Christmas Gift!
Monday, December 06, 2010What is your idea of the perfect Christmas gift? What do you buy others? Where do you get the ideas you come up with for the gifts you do buy others?
Some of the people we buy for give us ideas. Sometimes we have no choice but to just go with those ideas. We don't have any of our own for that particular person.
Sometimes, we draw names and wander aimlessly from store to store trying to come up with the perfect gift for that particular person - the person whose name we 'drew'. It's especially hard if they are of the opposite sex. Then we have to depend on our mate or a friend (who is the same sex) to try and come up with something.
Sometimes, we buy for someone who has similar tastes. You see something that you would like to have for yourself and you know that it would be the perfect gift for that particular person!
No matter who it is, or what we come up with for that particular person, I think we all experience a degree of stress. And sometimes, no matter what we get for that person, it just doesn't seem like 'the perfect gift'. I hate to wander aimlessly, from store to store, when no ideas are flowing, and nothing stands out and says, "Yes, pick me, I'm the perfect gift for 'John (or Jane) Doe'! And then we wonder why we do this to ourselves.
I do know, however, that our Heavenly Father gave to each and every one of us His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ! He is the Perfect Gift! He died without spot or blemish, the sinless one, so that all of us - 'sinners' - may have the opportunity to live forever - a life of freedom in Christ! The only One who can take away the sin of the world. An eternal gift!
He was destined before the foundation of the world, but was revealed at the end of the times for you. - 1 Peter 1:20.
Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift! - 2 Corinthians 9:15...
Let us stop stressing and just celebrate together, that Jesus is the 'Christ' in Christmas! He is the reason for the season! No need to wander aimlessly, and look any further for that perfect gift, for He is the only gift we need...He is 'the Perfect Gift'! Glory to God in the Highest!
